Who can own a .sd domain name?

.sd is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Sudan. Sudan Domains Registry is the registry that manages this top-level domain name.

Generally, anyone can register a .sd domain name. The sponsor of this top-level domain is the Sudan Internet Society. They are the main advocate for technical developments in Sudan.

Anyone is allowed to own a .sd domain name. There are no restrictions or requirements for registering this domain.

You can register it in any available extension and you will still retain the right to renew the registration when it expires.

However, we recommend that you do not use your personal name as the name of your domain. This is because you can easily lose your right to register it if it does not match with the real owner of the domain.

What is the process of registration?

The process of registration follows these steps below;

Step 1: You need to determine the type of .sd domain you want to acquire, for example, com, net, or org. Then make your selection depending on your website type. The process of selection should be done by you and it will require you to check the availability of the extension in .sd before making a choice.
