.uy is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Uruguay, it's short and easy to remember.

You can register a .uy domain name by making an order at any of our registrars supporting this extension like Godaddy or Namecheap.

You only need to provide your desired domain name, your preferred username (which you will use later on when logging into our order system), and a password which will be generated automatically if you don't already have one registered with us. All our users are required to have a Personal Information Manager (PIM), which is registered in the registrar section of your account settings interface.

Every username must have at least 6 characters, although it's preferable to have longer names since shorter ones can be easily forgotten or mistyped. The password needs to be 7 characters long and composed only of numbers and letters at least 1 of each.

You will also need to provide your real name, organization's name if any, address including postal code, phone number, fax number (if available), your country of origin, and -optional- your e-mail address.

What are the registration restrictions for a .uy domain name?

The only restriction regarding the registration of the domain name is that it must be between 3 and 63 characters long.

It can also contain letters (a-z), numbers (0-9), and dashes (-). It cannot begin or end with dashes.
